My wife is very polite. She doesn't like asparagus. I do most of the  
cooking and it took me almost ten years to realize this one simple  
preference of hers.

In contrast, though not by any means ruffled, I knew instantly it was  
not a good idea to continue the H***** thread.

PS: No asparagus for 18 months now. Not that hard really.
