We went up to Santa Rosa for the Shidara performance Saturday evening. OMG we have seen some of the best taiko groups, San Francisco, San Jose, Sacramento's Tiffany (the first non Japanese native to win the title of Taiko Champion in Japan) Kodo, other groups from Japan etc. etc. and.... Shidara is right up there with the best of the best. They have so much energy and joy. They obviously play because they enjoy it soooo much. The venue actually allows (flashless) photography! So I took a number of digital pics, 2 rolls of color slides and even some B&W when I ran out slides. Too tire to process the digital pics but this one demonstrates some of their energy - humans are meant to fly!
