Rick not to be too silly, but if this is a real problem, what about leaving 
two frames blank in the middle where the kink goes?

The kink in the middle comes from the film being hung over a curved  
holder, with weight clipped on to both ends down below.  Where the  
film goes over the curved holder, the film ends up with a kink that  
is nigh on impossible to flatten.  I might try ironing, if no ones  
chimed in with a better idea yet.
