What I always joke about and is true and I don't hear much of elsewise is my
love of "slow glass". I often feel alone in this hobby.
For rangefinder users we don't keen a brighter snappier groundglass to pop
in and out to help us focus. People confuse that with NEED FOR SPEED. On a
deep level.
What they really don't want to shoot without is that bright easier to focus
groundglass.
We in rangefinderville find groundglass issues groundless.
As we are groundglassless.
And rangefinder shooting is more of a compact issue. With little windows.
So if we're smart we can get great shots with camera kits we've got on our
person all day with SMALLER COMPACTER CHEAPER LESS FLAIR PRONE LESS
OBTRUSIVE FRONT GLASS TO AIR SURFACE GLASS.
I was going to get the APO ASPH Summicron 28 which I thought this was a
thread on as its surprisingly so much more compact than its slower f4
Elmarit competition.
But this new 2.8 is minute. Which is spelt the same was as minute.
This lens is for me. I'll have it on my cameras all day giving me 37.24mms
effective focal length. Darned close as I said earlier to my now favorite
Leitz 40 also lightweight and compact and "cheap".

37.24 is closer to true normal than a 50 true normal being 43.3mm.
And on the kinder gentler side.
I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
