Worry not. I don't have an older 35/1.4 right now, but the 35/2 and 
the thin T-E work fine without coding. I've not sure what coding 
could do for them. There are no issues with the non-coded versions.

On the other hand, maybe it could make the T-E wide open as sharp as 
the 90AA??  :-)
