I am disappointed that most of the new high quality fixed focal lens
P&S cameras, Ricoh, Fuji, and now Sigma, don't include an eye level
viewer. These are basically grab shot cameras. There is a qualitative
difference in simply being able to bring the camera to your eye and
snap a picture and being required to hold the camera a foot or so
away to compose the shot on a LCD finder. Its the difference between
a Leica and an SLR. I know - aftermarket finders can be attached to
most of them but these make it difficult to slip in and out of a
pocket. How hard would it be to include an eye level finder? They
don't take much space and are cheap to make. My old Olympus Pen 1/2
frame camera (not the SLR) had a very decent finder and the whole
camera cost only $50 new.
