OK, gang, here's a folder from our trip to the Oregon coast in early
September. We spent most of our time in or around the town of Manzanita,
about 20 minutes south of Cannon Beach. A couple of the shots have been
posted before, most not.

Here's the whole folder, if you wish to browse sans commentary:

Hmm. This looks like a fun town:

The dragon wants to play, too.

. . . but the beach got fogged in and the kids left him all by his lonesome:

The next morning, remnants from a wedding party that also got fogged in:

Silliness in the sand. . .

Attempts to find something visually pleasing in the sand:

A fellow photographer I met at on the Three Capes loop south of
Tillamook. He was filming the headlands going in and out of the
fog. Check out his 1960s-vintage motion picture camera, set up for
time-lapse. Beautiful machine!

Mist blowing on the beach:

Obligatory shot of me, so family members will not ask if I was actually
there. Photo by Katya:

Looking down on Manzanita and environs from the 1500-foot headland you
could see behind me in the previous shot:

M6TTL and Kodak UC100 or 400. Mostly with a 50mm DR Summicron, a couple
with a 35mm Summicron 4th ver., and 90/3.5 V/C Lanthar. 6 megapixel
Noritsu scans from Costco. I tell 'em to "preserve highlight detail," they
scan a little flat, I adjust, and Bob's your uncle.

Enjoy,
--Peter
