and of course for years, they did little to alter the M6. The camera was
great, but the M7 should have come out sooner. This was in part because
they were not challenged. The M8 is a different story. I think Leica for a
small company have done OK with this one. They are in the market at a time
where digitial is now dominant. They could not have made a rangefinder to
this level of excellence even 2 to 4 years ago, so it is probably not
tooooo late and they still have a relative monopoly with wonderful lens
technology: I thought Zeiss would beat them to the digital camera, so they
were faster than I expected and the DMR is not too shabby either: seems
dust cleaning is one real winner for a digital "back".
