Tina and Neal, so far the first lucky LUG M8ers,

Did you notice any "banding", or sensor streaking at medium and high
ISOs in your cameras?

The Leica-User forum is boiling, since this weekend began, with
discussions about sensor streaking from strong light sources in high
ISO situations, with some users even cancelling their M8 orders due
to these issues, finding them unacceptable for pro work.

The sample pictures shown on that forum show frightening light
streaks emerging from strong light sources in the image area, more
noticeable when shot against dark backgrounds and at ISOs starting
from 640 up. Some of the images are really discouraging and
disappointing, especially when one wants this camera for the same
qualities that led to choose any other Leica M, ie available-darkness
shooting.

Best,

Ed
