Subject: [Leica] Cameras I miss but don't miss...most

There's an interesting recent photo essay in Nat Geo (August I think) of
images taken with a Speed Graphic. The photos in the magazine were very
nice and I'm guessing actual prints would really be a sight. There's
nothing like 4x5 -- the mother of all full frames. Or maybe it's just
the daughter since there are bigger formats still. I need to take my
Toyo 45A out for a spin. It's been sitting for a while. I hope the
battery isn't dead. :-)

OK Guys,

What I really miss is the Crown Graphic 4X5 the US Air Force gave me
in 1963 and told me to be a photographer. They also gave me the keys
to the base darkroom and told me I was in charge. The best part of
that was I had an Omega D2 enlarger. I liked the D2 so much I bought
one when I got out of the service and also invested in a Calumet view
camera. Actually I don't miss the cameras as much as I miss the D2.
After moving to Texas in 1978 I had to give up the darkroom, and the D2.
