That's an accurate description of the M8. Itwas premature and postdated. 
Premature because Leica Solms didn't take into account the coming of the FF 
sensor. Postdated because Leica violated its own dedication to the M system. 
A cut-down Leica isn't a Leica. A Leica lens says and does what it is. And a 
Leica body doesn't contradict a Leica lens. Anyway, that's been my 
experience. 
 
Also, the great advantage of an RF camera in the digital format is that it 
can deliver a live and focusable VF image on the LED screen -- as does my 
Oly 5050. Leica fumbled that in the M8.
