I use Lightroom.  It's not a replacement for Photoshop by any means, but it 
does make it much faster to sort and edit photos.  There are many photos 
that don't need extra work in Photoshop and those can go right through 
Lightroom to be saved.  Anything that requires Layers or very much 
correcting is exported to Photoshop for more work.  I like the fact that 
you can use a loupe to look at the photos at 100% and check for focus and 
noise in Lightroom.  I also like the various presets that you can apply to 
batches of photos.  Makes it much faster and easier to work on a series of 
photos (this from the photographer who is at least a year behind in editing 
photos!!)
