Epson USA has it in the shop http://tinyurl.com/3t936 for $2999 which is a joke, the price was dropped 8 months ago for the new model (around $2200-$2400 now), which is not mentioned. I believe this website is not well updated. The Epson UK shop http://tinyurl.com/y3h28l says "not for sale" for the R-D1, no R-D1s mentioned. The extra website http://www.epsonrd1.co.uk/ mentions the R-d1s but no price. Epson UK was not able to deliver a flawless R-D1 to replace my defunkt one, which means the few last R-D1 samples they have are all objectable. My dealer offered me a R-D1s upgrade for a small additional cost. From discussions over at RFF in the R-D1 section I have learned that the qc issues with the R-D1s are less bad than with the R-D1. I would definitely not take one of the few left R-D1 samples regardless where you are. The chance to get a lemon goes close to 100%.
