Well, almost - tea in a cricket sense isn't a drink,
it's a break (interval, properly) in play, and a meal
to be consumed during that break in play. It comes
from the very English use of the word tea to describe
a meal - see
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tea_%28meal%29 for
further details.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cricket gives an
introduction to the game. Test cricket (a 5 day
international match) represents the purest form of the
game, whilst at the other end of the spectrum,
Twenty20 cricket makes virtually any other outdoor
team sport seem slow-paced. To understand and
appreciate the finer nuances of test cricket typically
takes many years, and it's often said that Americans
are not conditioned to be able to understand a game
that can last 5 days and end with no result, but it's
all part of the fascination of the game.
