Subject: [Leica] Dent! Help Request.
From: telyt at telus.net (David Young)

Finally got my R8+DMR back, from Germany, today; so I went down to
the lake, to take some shots, both as a test of the camera and as
exposure tests for this weekend's Pond Hockey Tournament.

While there, the lens (my 80~200/f4 Vario Elmar) flew off the camera
- apparently on it's own!

I don't know whether I had not got it firmly mounted, when I put it
on, or if my gloved fingers (it's -12 just now) accidentally
released the lock. No matter... either way it's my fault.

The lens hit the ice hard, but seems to be absolutely OK, except for
a bad dent in the lens hood.

So, my question is... is there a good system to restore a lens hood
to some semblance of round, while it's still on the lens?

All help greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
