Hi Tina,

As you well know my dictum has always been.....

 "When you photograph people in colour, you photograph their clothes!  When 
you photograph people in B&W you photograph their souls! "

However???????  Maybe we have an example where that isn't quite the case. 
:-)

First I like both, but what happens with the colour is the warmth and colour 
of the light emanating from the fire because of it. If we look at the scene 
as a "warm family moment in preparing food" one surely must go with the 
colour."

Now if you were showing this in an all B&W picture layout then obviously the 
case would be reversed simply because the colour would be distracting 
against all the other B&W photographs.

But the colour has the nod in this case.
