As for the 400 Telyt, I've never used that lens, Doug Herr is the one to ask, but I do have the Novoflex T-Noflexar 5.6/400mm with the fast focus grip which I would be more pleased with when I find a actually find a camera shop that can tell me, and supply, the right adapter set-up for the shutter release in the hand grip, even Canon seems to be unsure which adapters I need. This shot was taken with it when I had one arm in plaster - it makes a wonderful rest for a long lens, though a monopod is probably more practical :-) . http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/New-Old-Pictures/MG_3269_edited_2_edited_2.jpg.html About 180mm I'm not too sure, for me they are too close to 135 and too close to 200/250 lenses too, and there are quite a few other makes on the market that are good besides Leica. The 180, I should think, is actually a bit on the short side unless you're thinking of shooting things the size of wild boar and larger - here again I reckon Doug Herr, Mark Bohrer and David Young are the best people to ask. When you have a 20D you could start thinking about Zeiss and Rollei lenses in C/Y or QBM mounts, adapters are available for both. Here's an aerobatics shot taken free handed with a very reasonably priced second hand late version 4/300mm from Zeiss: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/New-Old-Pictures/Yorkshire/Ships-and-Boats/MG_5005_edited_1.jpg.html and a bird shot with the heavy early version of the 4/250 Leica (Though I think it may have been the Zeiss too): http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/New-Old-Pictures/Yorkshire/Ships-and-Boats/MG_5007_edited_3.jpg.html Hope this helps a little Cheers Douglas Leonard Taupier wrote: > Hello Douglas, > > We have been getting the same weather here in the mid-Atlantic states. > Today it dipped down to 9 deg F (-12 deg C.).
