HCB never got near a darkroom. 
I studied under Georges Fevre, who was HCBs master printer for many years.
Probably every exhibition or published print you've seen of HCB was actually
printed by Georges. 

George was fond of saying that HCBs negatives were usually quite bad and
required ALOT of work. He chalked this up to HCBs use of an unmetered Leica
and quick estimations of exposure. 

I think HCBs film was developed by Picto, the pro lab ib Paris and then work
prints and final prints were done by Georges."
