Someone donated a phoropter exactly like that to us to take to Guatemala, 
complete with adjustable chair and eye charts.  We set the whole thing up 
in the basement of a church and trained two Guatemalan doctors to do eye 
exams.  I have lots of photos of the Leica Phoropter in use (made with a 
Canon camera) ;-)
