When I first saw the ones from the Photoshop/Bridge CS3 beta ("Br",
"Ps") I, too, assumed they were placeholders -- 'til I saw "Lr" in the
web info about the production Lightroom release.

Thing is, the new icons have grown on me -- they're a lot quicker to
pick out visually than squinting to try to figure out...  "Is that the
little pink palm tree, or the green parrot's feather, or whatever -- and
which app was that, again?"
