Subject: [Leica] 6 bit coding for m8 lenses; Sharpie?

Hi Ted

First of all the coding will enable the lens info to appear in the Exif
data.

Secondly if you use lenses with IR cut filters - and if you're shooting
colour this is a must IMHO - the filters result in a progressive cyan cast
towards the frame edges. The next release of firmware - v1.10 - will use the
lens identification to automatically remove this cast. The cast is is not
constant it's lens dependant, the wider the lens the stronger the cast.
