Philippe,
Actually, she left things pretty automatic for her images.  The ghostly
figures moving around were fairly interesting but could become tiresome in a
large body of work.  If I remember correctly she just downsampled to 16bit
without too many major issues after finalizing the HDR.  I suspect that
each image would be different.
