Aaah, sez Bob.  I still like the sound of actual thermionic valves.

(Even though my current amps work by pulse-width-modulating the power
supply with only an inductor between their TI-Equibit-controlled output
transistors and the speaker cables.  But I use a toobed phono preamp,
whose output gets converted by an A/D before getting fed to the digital
madness, and vinyl *still* sounds lots better than CDs.  Go figure.)
