Visicalc worked fine on the Sinclair Z-81. I used to do the contract 
administration calculations on it for large projects. A great relief 
after doing spreadsheets by hand. Only mantra was: backup, backup, 
backup, backup , backup, backup and then probably once more 'cuz the 
backups were made on a cheap cassette recorder.
