My first real computer was an IBM 704 - 8K of 36 bit words for memory, 
and a drum of the same size for direct access memory.
In about 1968 I (my employer, actually) paid around $250,000 for 1 MB 
main memory (AKA Large Capacity Storage), if my wet memory serves me.
This make the M8 at around $5000 including a couple of 2000 MB memory 
cards a real bargain - so I ordered a black one (to look good with a 
35mm Titanium Summilux) from B&H last week :-)
