Qaanik is an amazing owl... enough to make you believe in the Harry 
Potter version of Owls!

As you'll note, in the earlier shots, Rose borrowed the trainer's 
glove to handle Qaanik. But he is so gentle, that he hardly uses 
those powerful talons.  Here, he demonstrates just how gentle he is, 
even when being handled by strange children!  The trainer (not Rose!) 
holds him on his bare hands, without any difficulty.
