Subject: [Leica] Leica USA incompetence again

Brain,

Your 75/1.4 might not be of the latest stock, thus its warranty card still
bears the old address of Leica USA. They have since moved to:

1 Pearl Court Unit A
Allendale, NJ 07401-1610
U.S.A.

I had a similar experience. I sent my M 50/1.4 ASPH to them in July 2006
for repair under the Passport Warranty. They claimed my lens had not been
registered and attempted to charge me US$500.25 for the repair. I declined
to pay. Eventually they fixed my lens and returned it some seven months
later. In the meantime, my other 50/1.4 ASPH developed a similar problem,
and a local technician repaired it in a few days and charged me US$50.

Joseph
