Subject: [Leica] Report of M8 Base Failure

Jerry,

It seems to me that, since the M8 is basicly an electronic device, they gave 
the mechanical design chore to the electrical designers as well.  It is a 
total departure from the sound mechanical design of earlier Leicas, or so it 
appears to me from the information I have seen.  I must admit that I have 
not seen or handled an M8.
