Within a few miles of Google, Yahoo!, Sun, and even the iconic NASA Hangar
One airship structure, lies some of the vestige of wild abundance in the
Silicon Valley. The Bay Area Marsh land were turned into salt ponds and
landfills as the area was developed, driving a few species into near
extinction. Fortunately, a number of the salt ponds have been returned and
hopefully will become wild life refuge again.

This is the first set of pictures from the Don Edward Wildlife Refuge. More
to come. Plus a ghost town in the heart of the Silicon Valley? Coming soon,
also pictures of Drawbridge. A no man's land then where the authority dared
not enter, and a no man's land now as it slowly sinking into the bay.

Just across from the bay, within sights of the power towers, the Dumbarton
bridge, is the start of the trail:
