Doug the "animated pose" does really make for an interesting and striking 
pic. Fairly simple to replace the perch of course, if
desired.

Subject: [Leica] Willet

The Willet is one of the larger shorebirds, common in the marshes around
San Francisco Bay during the winter, where it is a drab gray bird except
for its striking wing pattern.

In the summer some Willets migrate inland to the marshes of the Sierra
Valley, along California highway 89 between Truckee and Quincy in the
Sierra Nevada:

I'm not fond of the bird's perch but otherwise I like this picture.

Technical stuff: R8/DMR, 560mm f/6.8, shoulder stock & monopod.  All
comments welcome.
