Sherry Krauter taught me this trick - count over 24 sprocket holes from the
end and using scissors just cut down half way into the roll and then over to
the end.  Just don't cut through a sprocket hole.  Works as well as the very
expensive trimmer you never see for sale.

I have always used my fingernail with my IIIF. Which have had for 6.3
months. But I'd get a trimmer if I saw one.

I have a longer thumb nail on my right hand for bass notes.
On the guitar which I don't own yet. But will take up again soon I think.
