Ham seems to be saying, "I couldda been a contenduh...!".

At least they could have cast him in a couple of B Grade sitcoms so 
he'd have some residuals and be able to afford some chimp chicks to 
party with, now and again.

As with Rodney Dangerfield, Ham don't get no respeck.

I don't know how it came to be, but Ham lived out his retirement and 
senior years at the North Carolina Zoo, a new facility at the time and 
innovative in terms of reasonably natural habitat.
