Not precisely true.... use PS and the sharpening filter.....

However, personally, I have only  1 lens that is not sharp to a fault.. the
35 pre-ASPH Summilux.  But it is the lightest + fastest lens in the arsenal.

Look at it another way: you can may a sharp image soft, but you cannot 
make a soft image sharp.
