Subject: [Leica] I can't print my petunias!!

Peter,

I have had custom profiles made for my R1800, by inkjetart.com, and they
seem to be very accurate and are reasonably priced. I doubt that you will
get to where you want to be by using the Epson profiles or paper
manufacturer profiles. Soft-proofing is essential, as is a calibrated
monitor. I check for out-of-gamut in soft-proofing view. If you check for
out-of-gamut in just the PS monitor view, almost everything will be out of
gamut. As has been mentioned, Srgb is a compressed color space.

I don't print that much color, but got the R1800 just for that use on
semi-gloss papers. It is a fine printer, but needs the additional tweaking
noted. Having said all that, this image will be a test to print. I got a
reasonable soft-proof on Innova White Gloss, but a lot of the color was
still out of gamut. But, another paper might be better. You just have to
fiddle with it.

Ken
