Peter,

Here's how the blurb.com system works. I upload a file for the LUG yearbook
to the blurb.com server. I then make it available for purchase to anyone
around the world (or at least to the blurb.com list of approved countries).

When you purchase a copy, blurb.com notes your address, and then assigns the
printing job to their print partner closest to you. Copies are only printed
upon sale--unlike conventional books, which require an advance order and a
specific press run.

A print partner is a company that has agreed to print blurb.com books on
their HP Indigo 5500 equipment, which is equipped to print high-quality
color images and then bind them into a hardcover or softcover book.

So, that means that somewhere in the EU there's a print partner for
blurb.com--quite an improvement from last year, when there was none. The
shipping charges will be based on an intra-EU shipment, rather than a parcel
coming from the USA.

Best,
Jim

yearbook

Jim,

does that mean that they can take copy from your "production setup" in the
States and run of x copies in the EU, or do we Europeans need to set up our
own
account/project or whatever? As a matter of fact do you know in which
country?

I am sure that it will be stunning, last year's was!

Thanks again
