If the Mig 1.44 prototype had ever gone into production (Mach 2.3 and a
range of 4000km with droptanks), the F-22 would look like it's standing
still. But the Russkis have set its development aside and are now
working hard on their new frontline fighter the Sukhoi T-50 - in
almost all respects a Russian F-22 or a JSF with all the best bits of
the MIG and the Sukhoi Berkut developments. And I bet it doesn't cost
half as as much either. Spares available in any good tractor workshop :-)

Super Zorki :-)

Per Ardua Ad Mortem

BTW, German pilots were VERY surprised at the performance of the MIg-29
aircraft they inherited from the GDR Airforce, a bit rough around the
edges, but highly competitive in comparison with their aging Phantoms
and their Tornados
