Charlie: send it to Leica and ask them to engrave the pen strokes into the
camera ;-) perhaps in Red!!

On Wednesday evening, I went to a free lecture at my local university in
Cheltenham. Martin Parr, the Magnum photographer, came to give an open
lecture to the students on the local photography course. He lives only 40
miles away in Bristol. The public, like me, were free to come.

It was a very enjoyable lecture, and I learnt a lot about why he does things
in his unique way. After the talk, various students asked him for his
autograph. I merely said hello and went next door to an art exhibitilon (a
prestigious UK open student drawing prize) and wandered around with a glass
of red wine and my M6TTL, taking a few snaps.

As Martin Parr left, I wondered if I had anything he could autograph.
I looked at the top plate of my chrome M6TTL and thought that Leica had
conveniently left this blank ready for this moment. So out with my Sharpie
and moments later, hey presto!

Now I'm not sure what to do. Do I sell my camera to someone with silly
money? Do I have it etched and keep it? Shall I just retire it with the pen
signature?

If I were just an autograph hunter, it might have been up for sale already,
but sadly I'm not.

thanks for your thoughts

Charlie
