Ric,

The 55/3.5 compensating micro was made from 1961 to 1969 in four  
slightly different versions. This is still one of the best micro's  
that Nikon ever made. One came with the first used Nikon FTN I bought  
in around 1973. I still have the Nikon F Nikkormat Handbook published  
in 1968, written by Cooper and Abbott. It's on page 5-30. This is the  
book that is put together like a looseleaf binder but with 20 rings.
