I'd suggest that the AK is the M6 of assault weapons - beautifully designed; 
purely functional; mercifully minimalist. It does what you need it to do, 
when you need it to do it. Every time. Without fail. ;-)

Yes, but the Leica crowd is upscale, as Kyle's post indicates.  An AK is not
a gentleman's choice.  It is arguably efficient, but...pedestrian.  It would
be, as I imagine, like finding a Salad Shooter or a Bass-O-Matic in Kyle's
kitchen.
