Subject: [Leica] Thumbs down for Lens Pen! ----tried and proven method

Ok. I've got good result for anyone still following
this thread, but it takes patience and attention to
detail. Windex seems to work fine. Methyl alcohol is
recommended by Leica, but not as easy to obtain. But
it must be applied with 100% cotton Q tips, working
your way down from top to bottom, 1/3 of the way at a
time, followed by a wipe with a very clean microfibre
cloth immediately after. I've got one by clearsight. A
hot breath helps with any residual streaks.. Keep
doing this all the way down. Do your best to get the
edges of the glass where small lint/dust can
accumulate.

Using a continuous light source from the rear of the
lens is the only way to judge how effective your
efforts are. Otherwise, just blow hot air on it and
wipe. Lens looks clear, and NO SLEEP IS LOST!

Thank you everyone for your great advise and help,
G Medina
