Are you sure of this? Seems to me the most you could say about a  
larger-than-24x36 sensor that would fit within the image circle of the  
current R lenses is that it would be a square with a diagonal equal to  
that of the 24x36 frame. The sum of 24^2 + 36^2 is 1872, which  
corresponds to the diagonal of a square whose side length is about  
30.6 mm.
