hi everyone,

been lurking for so long again, thought I'd contribute some pics:

http://www.ricecracker.net/ireland.php

did an interesting test for myself: I brought the nikon F5 instead of the M6
because I wanted to see if the leica gear really changed the way I shot or
if I was just gear fetishizing and obsessing over a brand name.

the judgement: the F5 was so obnoxiously huge, it announced my presence
wherever I was and it absolutely determined how and what I photographed. a
good lesson learned.

also at the dublin airport, they absolutely refused to hand check my film
and told me even high speed film was ok. I gave in after half an hour of
protests and was furious the entire ten hour flight home.

and the film was fine!!! even TMZ pushed to 6400!!!!

who knew?

doug
