Len, I must chip in and admit I replaced the Elmar C 90 with the Macro Elmar 
recently. I wanted it for travel, to add a bit of closer up ability to the 
M. I've not used it much yet. Seems very nice, and the macro attachment 
works for me, but the lens barrel does not lock: does yours. I mean, when 
collapsed, its "free" wheeling.

Dave,

I fully understand. My comment was a more universal observation. I  
don't know of anyone on the LUG, other then me, that has one. Before  
the introduction of the new Summarits it was one of Leica's least  
expensive lenses. Plus it's a multi purpose lens, macro, portrait,  
and a very compact telephoto. Just an observation.
