Having someone taller along is really good idea. Perhaps you can  
convince him to carry a flag pole while standing about 100m away next  
time? :)

As for my friend's close encounter of the electrical kind, it happened  
only last week. I do a fair bit of cycling and I always try to keep an  
eye out on the weather radar.
