Hi Tina,

I just scan as TIFFS and work with them.  I have some image analysis 
programs that are important for some of what I do that work through a Zeiss 
program KS 100 / KS Run which doesn't work with .DNG.  So I stick with 
.TIFFs. 

I wouldn't suggest the multiple scanning method for anything other than 
great photos with troublesome originals.
