Assuming that we're discussing
photographs and photographers
seriously pursuing the art and craft;
what, exactly, does
"nothing there"
mean?

It's one thing to have a predilection
for social documentary photography;
and quite another thing
to imagine other visual subjects and approaches
as having "nothing" of value for the viewer;
not to mention the various approaches
within the medium's historical context.

For me, as a photographer and lover of photographs,
        social documents
        candid or formal portraits
        wildlife studies
        landscapes
        cloud studies
        macro and micro studies
        architectural studies
        sports studies
        so called fine art photographs
        cutting, bleeding edge photographs
        (what am I may be missing?)
        oh nudes (of course)
        and even advertising photographs
all have practitioners ranging from Extraordinary to Mediocre.
Some achieve a consistent high level of craft;
a smaller number consistently reach for and achieve Art.

Each will benefit from the finest possible printing techniques,
papers and other relevant materials.

Fond regards,
George
