Subject: [Leica] Firmware upgrade for M8
From: mark.teampope at ntlworld.com (Mark Pope)

I have heard/read that new firmware will be released for the M8, hot on
the heels of the M8.2
I noticed the 8.2 allows the user to change the exposure compensation by
applying first pressure on the shutter button then rotating the control
wheel on the back of the camera.

IIRC it also has a mode to automatically alter the ISO setting, which is
apparently available in the 'all modes', not just the new 's' (snapshot)
mode.

I wonder whether these features as well as SDHC support will be
available on the original M8?

I for one would welcome the ability to quickly alter exposure
compensation without having to delve into the menu. Personally, I'm
less bothered about being able to have the camera change the ISO as
conditions change.

Has anyone seen/loaded the new firmware yet or know when it might be
released?

All the best

Mark
