It depends on people Tina - some collectors like old postcards for 
instance, but want them to look new - is it not a paradox?
I like mine to have had a life, and I sometimes prefer their scars to 
what they show - my paradox.
Others may have different tastes. This is just mine.
I'm not in the trade, and you certainly know better than I about your 
own (potential) clients in any case.
