Philippe,
thanks for your comments and suggestions.

Here's the uncropped picture with the bee and the blue flower:

As you see, the bee is more or less the focus of attention, but it looks 
as if it was photoshopped into the picture (I assure you it wasn't) - 
It's just that I didn't particularly like the diagonal piece of railway 
bridge wall in the background - although I suppose it does provide some 
depth.
