My son owns my favorite Seamaster model, the "James Bond" watch which
has a fantastic stainless band and blue face. He gave it to me for
safe keeping while keeping the peace in the Mideast "sandbox" and I
hated to give it back, though was glad he returned in one piece to
claim it!
Don't forget Omega's even closer cousin, Tissot. Today I'm wearing a
PR50 Automatic tutone. It is thin, has a solid back and keeps great
time. Cost about $200. I have several other Tissots, all chronos, in
quartz and they are solid, accurate, relatively inexpensive watches.
